As we have all just experienced a very chilly weekend and it is the Middle of May winter is definitely on it’s way.  However please do not hibernate but activate! 

You may be asking yourself Hibernate? What do I mean?

We would all love the luxury of sleeping away the winter, that’s a dream not realistic at all. 

Well many animals Hibernate during the winter months, bears, mammals, some reptiles, chipmunks, even certain bees…they become inactive to conserve energy whilst food is scarce but we as humans never need to do this!  

So although it’s winter time we can still be active and choose healthy nourishing meals and still look after our health and bodies. 

With chilly weather we are all looking to eat warm comforting foods and you can with a little effort still lose weight and eat warm nourishing healthy meals. 

We also tend to be far less active than we are in the summer so during the few winter months that we experience here in SA, it is a serious mistake to neglect your weight. 

We cover ourselves up with layers of warm clothing and big jackets which give us the opportunity to gain weight without really realizing just how easy it is to gain extra kilograms without even noticing.  

It’s very easy to resort to comfort foods during the colder months, it is important to understand that you need to manage your calorie and energy intake.

Don’t you want to look and feel your best once our warm weather arrives?

So let me remind you not to be a Big Cuddly Bear and Hibernate, rather take care now 

Continue losing weight or maintaining your weight at least and you will be in the best shape ever once the Summer comes again,  in a few months. 

Time flies by so quickly so don’t get caught out,  be prepared for the Summer.
